Development Geologist

Job Duties:

· Geologic interpretation with a focus on:

1.  Clastic sedimentology

2.  Sedimentary facies & depositional environment analysis

3.  Sequence stratigraphic interpretation using well log, core, biostratigraphic and seismic data

4.  Structural styles

5.  Fault seal analysis

6.  Log analysis

7.  Some basic knowledge of petroleum geochemistry and basin modeling.

· Generation of prospects in a team environment for drilling and present to governmental organizations for approval.

· Familiarity with probabilistic assessment techniques for hydrocarbon prospects.

· Assessment and improvement of existing field production techniques (i.e. waterflood, etc.)

· Coordination and participation in regional geologic studies that aid the region’s geologic understanding of current plays as well as development of new play concepts.

· Proficiency in and/or a willingness to learn the following PC applications:

1.  Mapping (Petrel and/or Z-Map)

2.  Geologic/Reservoir Model Generation (Petrel)

3.  Basin Modeling (Trinity/Genesis)

4.  MS Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
