ideastream®, an award winning multiple media public broadcasting organization in Cleveland, Ohio, is looking for someone with an in-depth understanding of graphic design as well as of evolving media techniques and technology including skills in non-linear editing. 1.                     Essential duties and responsibilities:

·         Execute the design of television program elements, spots or occasionally entire programs from concept through final implementation.

·         Design and create graphics utilizing a variety of equipment and techniques including 2-D and 3-D animation.

·         Perform non-linear editing. 

·         Operate production equipment.  Gather and deliver material for web use.  Perform simple single and multi-camera directing. 

·         Plan, organize and coordinate design aspects of productions and production elements on multiple platforms. Includes contributing to story, segment and show ideas and proposals, researching, field production.

·         Establish and maintain productive work atmosphere and ensure team is working together.

·         Participate in on-air fundraising as needed.

·         Perform other duties as assigned.

 

2.           Qualifications

 

            Knowledge/skills/aptitudes:

 

In-depth understanding of graphic design as well as of evolving media production techniques and technology including skills in non-linear editing.  Demonstrated proficiency in graphics creation and television non-linear editing software with strong abilities in Final Cut, Adobe products and Flash preferred.  Understanding of web and interactive principles and associated software.  Familiarity with public broadcasting is desirable.

Must be a creative thinker with strong written and oral communications skills. Proven record of multi-tasking and ability to plan and manage multiple projects.

Awareness of critical community issues, trends, and leadership.

Ability to consistently work well with others, demonstrating at all times respect for the diverse constituencies of public broadcasting.

 

 

Experience: 

 

Moderate level of experience in graphic design and television editing.  Web based production experience preferred.

 

Education:

 

Bachelor’s degree in related area or equivalent experience.

 

             Essential Physical Demands and Working Environment:

                

Ability to see, communicate, hear and utilize electronic communication devices.
