Database Developer - 4988

Description:About the OpportunityThe Database Developer must have Oracle PL/SQL and UNIX experience and will design, develop, implement, maintain and support applications for hosted Database Marketing systems. The ideal candidate will have participated in at least one successful data warehouse project and has good understanding of ETL and relational database systems.Duties include:Work with account team on business requirements and functional specifications.Identify, design and develop process improvements.Define, design and implement approaches to perform initial loads and ongoing updates of the database systems.Transform and load data according to the business specifications.Code and unit test modulesExecute system, integration and regression tests.Perform enlacements and bug fixes as required.Define and execute data validation routines.Support applications and perform production data loads.Prepare applicable system documentation and operation manuals.Qualifications:Required Skills & Experience:Strong problem solving and decision making skillsStrong communication skillsCapable of interpreting specs written by non-technical team membersExperience servicing ad hoc requestsAbility to carry a project from concept through deployment and ongoing productionFamiliarity with both OLTP and Data Warehouse environments Strong background with UNIX / ORACLE platforms Knowledge of RDBMS concepts and best practices4 years development experience with Oracle (PL/SQL) and Unix Shell Scripting (KSH)UNIX tools such as editors, source code version control (CVS), etc.MS Office tools such as WORD, EXCEL, etc.Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with PL/SQL, common UNIX commands and UNIX Shell scripting (KSH)Experience in a dynamic work environmentBachelors Degree (or equivalent experience) requiredPluses:Database Marketing industry experience.Address Standardization, Merge/Purge experience.Salary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experienceAlliance Data offers a competitive salary, a comprehensive selection of benefit options including 401(k).Job Location: Irving, TXJob Number: 2750Company URL: http://www.epsilon.comCompany Profile:About UsEpsilon and its Abacus division provide comprehensive marketing services worldwide, helping companies manage, measure and optimize their customer relationships.
