DIRECTOR OF SAFETY
A well-run growth-oriented transportation company in Northern Indiana seeks to hire an experienced, professional Director of Safety to join our vibrant and focused team. The qualified applicant, reporting directly to executive staff, will participate on the management team, direct activities in accordance to DOT and FMCSA regulations, maintain a high company safety standard, & continue to recruit, train, develop, & retain the finest driving team in the country.

Responsibilities will include: Supervising department employees & accountability for all functions of the Driver’s Resources Unit. Management & implementation of company-wide safety program. Carrying out all post-accident procedures diligently & accurately. Handling of insurance procedures, including making claims & understanding compliance & underwriting guidelines. Driver retention. Reporting & accountability effecting fleet including company regulations compliance, fuel & bonus,
Requirements include: Working knowledge of the flatbed industry. Management of a company safety program or equivalent. Knowledge & ability to keep abreast of DOT standards. Knowledge of all FMCSA regulations. Log auditing. Accident investigation. Insurance including claims, compliance, & underwriting guidelines. Truck maintenance.
Driver retention. Supervisory background and skills. Ability to work in & promote a team environment. Basic computer skills & MS Word, Excel,& Outlook. Familiarity with computerized, gps fleet tracking and equipment/maintenance software.
