Job Summary

Provides high-level technical support to Dolby broadcast customers. Includes assistance with systems design, education in the principles of Dolby technologies, and Pro Audio product operation. Supports technical and marketing related trade show activities. Is primary support contact for OEM partner companies who are using Dolby’s family of OEM modules.

Job Functions

Provide in-house and on-site support for Dolby’s professional products and technologies. Includes phone support, customer visits, and assistance at broadcast events. Establish and maintain customer relationships that reflect Dolby’s commitment to the highest quality products and service.

Use advanced technical knowledge and industry experience to analyze requirements at television networks and stations, and recommend appropriate design solutions utilizing Dolby products and technologies, and according to departmental objectives. Work directly with customers during planning and implementation to assure successful results.

Provide first-line support to OEM partners. Have a thorough understanding of the applications, functions and integration of Dolby OEM modules.

Provide technical assistance to documentation efforts including, writing, reviewing and commenting on manuals, application notes and other documents as necessary.

Participates in administration and moderating customer support web-based activities and projects including the DolbySupport site and the Dolby User Forums.

Provide feedback to Product Manager, Applications Manager, and Product Engineering regarding product improvements and new product designs, and their priorities. Feedback based on customer input, industry experience and internal department objectives.

Identify and prioritize areas for improvement relating to Broadcast and Pro Audio Customer Support group activities, and implement procedures and processes to achieve desired results including use and development of a customer support database and coordinating efforts with remote Dolby offices.

Participate in technical talks or seminars relating to Dolby technologies to customers and others in the industry for educational and promotional purposes.

Provide technical and marketing assistance at trade shows, including NAB, AES and others. Support trade show preparation as needed, working with members of the Sales, Marketing and Trade Show groups.

Skills and Education

B.S. or Associate degree in Engineering, or equivalent related experience.

5 years technical experience in engineering, broadcast, or professional audio environment.

Knowledge of both broadcast and professional audio procedures and equipment.

Experience in the use of standard audio and electronic test equipment. Soldering sklls required.

Strong oral, written, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Must be self-motivated and able to apply creative solutions.

Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MS Access required.

Moderate travel required
