We’re poised to win in the marketplace-we’re seeking winners!Title: Corporate Director - Service DeliPRIMARY FUNCTIONA Corporate Director ensures the integrity and execution of corporate merchandising initiatives and business development plans that drive profitable sales growth. Execution is facilitated through direct supervision of the Business Development Managers in their area of responsibility and through the communication and collaboration with Banners/Regions. Integrity is established by ensuring that the department’s activities are consistent with and deliver against the strategic and financial objectives of the company. The Director will also be actively involved in the development of the department’s strategies and the subsequent initiative creation and deployment. Responsible for sales in excess of $1B across 48 states and 3 store formats.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES 1. Business Planning Responsibilities: Utilizes consumer insight and industry expertise to establish growth guidelines and financial objectives for the annual plan. Responsible for reconciliation of the department’s activities to ensure the means equate to the financial, tactical, and strategic expectations of the business. Garners alignment with key vendor partners to sustain our strategic vision. 2. Ad/Promo Responsibilities: Manages the total company promotional activities. Making certain that those operatives are done so collaboratively with banners/regions and that they are fiscally sound.3. Assortment, Pricing, and Sourcing: Manages and deploys schematic plans and recommends business cases for capital expenditures to present to Senior Management. Engineers total company pricing parameters to ensure departmental performance. Supervises vendor relationships and is responsible for final approval of national contracts.4. Managerial Responsibilities: Impacts the organization through the management of internal and external resources across banners/regions. Leads, coaches and develops Business Development Managers. Also responsible for leading Business Support Specialists and other members of Enterprise Merchandising in initiatives. Recruits, interviews, and hires Business Development Managers, Business Support Managers, and Business Support Specialists. Performs annual review process for the BDMs. Responsible for succession planning for entire department (beyond their areas of responsibility).5. Communication: Maintains formal and informal channels of upward, downward, and lateral communication, while fostering discussion, suggestion, and expression of thought and innovation.6. Financial management: Develops annual and quarterly sales and total profit projections by contributor in their area of responsibility. Ensures financial results meet corporate commitments. JOB REQUIREMENTS1. Education, Certification, and Relevant Experience: BA degree (or equivalent experience) and eight or more years of retail working knowledge around sourcing, supply chain management, category business planning, marketing, consumer research, and financial management practices across multiple banners or regions/geographies.2. Analytical Skills: Must have a strong knowledge base in supermarket retail and an understanding of consumer behavior in relation to product performance. Must carry a detailed understanding of cause-effect relations between operational activities and performance through utilization of consumer and financial data, merchandising, marketing, and/or statistical means. 3. Interpersonal Skills: Proven ability to work successfully across all areas of the company; can successfully monitor performance; strong client management skills, particularly working with vendors; ability to influence and lead effective partnerships with the banners/regions; can thrive in a complicated matrix environment.4. Innovation: Champions new ideas and initiatives and creates an environment that supports innovation; leverages fresh perspectives, breakthrough ideas, and new paradigms to create value in the market. 5. Negotiation Skills: Must demonstrate ability to negotiate contracts and terms in order to gain maximum advantage for the company. Experience in developing complicated and national contracts. 6. Strategic Skills: Demonstrate ability to be forward thinking and have a global perspective; while delivering category plans and programs that compliment both the corporate and departmental strategies leading to strong category sales and profit performance.7. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to develop and maintain effective business relationships internally and externally. 8. Technical Skills: Well developed computer aptitude with proficient skills and knowledge of office software programs; ability to adapt to and learn new systems quickly.REPORTS1. BDM2. BSM3. BSS4.
