Come and join our team to deliver this exceptional underwriting service as a Small Commercial Underwriter.The Commercial Lines Small Underwriter will be responsible for underwriting and pricing new and renewal small accounts for an assigned group of agents. Quote and document small new business submissions from agency assignment. Manage CAAMS task lists for New Business exceptions. Coach agents on how to use POS system. Participate actively in branch and team meetings to discuss quality, flow of business and agency management issues. Manage Point of Sale (POS) exceptions, new business submissions, account renewals and endorsement referrals. Respond to agency phone calls and submissions. Pro-actively seeks additional business from agency assignment. In this role you will typically handle accounts under $25K. You will be expected to provide superior customer service within required service guidelines. In this role there is an emphasis on responding quickly and positively to agency phone calls and submissions. As a small account underwriter you will be responsible for pro-actively seeking additional business from agency assignments. Position Responsibilities: 3-5 years experience in commercial lines underwriting. Underwriting small renewals and endorsements that fail automatic/manual bypass process. Proactively responding to and contacting agents on new and renewal business, and renewal submissions. Working collaboratively with Small Commercial Lines Sales Managers on submissions, competitor benchmarking, customer feedback, risk appetite, and other pertinent underwriting issues. Periodic onsite visits to Small Commercial Lines Sales Managers and underwriting team. Participate actively in branch and team meetings to discuss quality, flow of business and agency management issues. Staying current with branch underwriting strategies related to appetite and pricing increases and assist in strategy execution. Guiding agency auditing program as well as manage business mix by using on-line tools, such as PIF pull report. Participate in service meetings, training and project work as assigned.
