Collections (Local)

The Collector is responsible for collecting on past due accounts that are assigned to them. This position requires working in a team environment, but making independent decisions. Commercial/business collections experience a plus. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES•Expedite timely payment via phone, e-mail or collection letters while meeting required daily quotas. •Work with lead or supervisor to create and communicate payment plans to client. •Respond to client inquiries regarding past due accounts, research, and/or provide account information to client as necessary. •Enter all communication documentation into system. •Communicate with other departments to answer questions or discrepancies that clients may have. •Support the efforts of the team to maintain the integrity of the Clients’ database. •Reporting on account aging to the Collections Supervisor. •Manage accounts receivables aging to the acceptable level identified by management. •Identify and report to supervisor any existing or potential financial instabilities that may exist with an account. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. •Strong knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel and Outlook. •1-2 years of previous Accounts Receivable experience or commercial/business collection experience is preferred. JOB DUTIES •Take clients off of credit hold that have paid.•Make/Receive Collections calls (50/day).•Research past due account information (i.e. misapplied payment, services issues, billing errors, etc.)•Send clients past due letters.•Run A/R reports•Complete & respond to AR reviews.•Fill out necessary paperwork (i.e. sales adjustment/ lien waivers, etc.)•Attend and participate in non pay cancellation meetings.•Communicate w/other depts.
