Claims Re-inspector/Internal Fraud Investigator

Job Description:The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a Property Claims Re-inspector / Internal Fraud Investigator for our Worcester MA office.Responsibilities:Responsible for investigating illegal and unethical activity of employees, vendors and agents in the Home Office and field locations across the country. Responsible for conducting certain aspects of fraud investigations and audits within financial and operational areas of the Company. Performs relevant field work that may include interviewing, inspecting and coordination with employees, vendors, agents and insured’s. Under limited direction, work within broad limits and authority on highly complex assignments requiring specialized knowledge of the property & casualty industry, including knowledge of claims handling and adjustment processes. Able to maintain strict confidentiality when dealing with all investigations and associated work. Perform claims quality assurance reviews, including in-house and field claim re-inspections. Conduct investigations as directed by management to detect evidence of fraudulent activity. Follow-up on leads with confidential sources. Participate in decision making discussions with management regarding suspicious activity. Present cases to Company authorities for resolution and if required, to law enforcement agencies for criminal prosecution. Write case reports. Conduct and or review pre-employment investigations. Develop and maintain contacts and sources of information internally and throughout the industry. Provide technical advice to associates. Assist in developing new detection methods and systems enhancements to proactively identify suspicious activity. Participate in Fraud Awareness training.Requirements: 5-8 Years of related experience as a property/homeowner adjuster using Xactimate software to scope damage along with fraud investigation skills. Bachelors degree preferred, high school diploma required. Associate in Claims 33 and 35 is preferred. Obtaining Certified Fraud Examiner designation will be required.
