Chemist - Measurement Science
Job Description:Lubrizol Advanced Materials has an immediate need for a Chemist in our Measurement Science department. This position will is located in our Brecksville, OH location (a southern suburb of Cleveland). DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare samples for analysis and assist in analysis of the samples and reporting results to customers. Assist in development of new methodologies for qualitative and quantitative analysis of mixture organic/polymer compounds. Learn and operate analytical instrumentation. Interpret, present, and discuss analysis results with appropriate personnel. Provide follow-up experimentation and reporting to customers. Effectively interact with external customers of Lubrizol Advanced Materials Measurement Science and provide analysis results and written reports on a timely manner. Help maintain an orderly and safe laboratory operation. Actively participate in safety meetings and orientations.
Job Experience:SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, polymer science, or related field. • Strong communicator with good verbal and written communication skills. • Result oriented with strong customer focus. • Ability to communicate with Measurement Science customers and analysts delivering results in a timely manner. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and ability to learn operating software related to analytical instrumentation. CONSIDERED A PLUS: • Laboratory experience. • Experience in running and maintaining analytical instrumentation such as NMR, MS, IR, and HPLC. • Knowledge of working with laboratory chemicals and equipment, separation methods, and composition analysis. SALARY RANGE: $42,000 To $61,000 NO RELOCATION AVAILABLE BONUS ELIGIBLEExpected Travel Time: None
