Administers and develops company compensation programs. Designs, recommends and monitors compensation programs, policies and procedures consistent with company objectives.
Assists in the administration and coordination of compensation programs including job evaluation, base pay, variable pay and equity programs. Monitors market trends and evaluates programs for external competitiveness. Analyzes company position against market and submits recommendations to management.
Conducts job evaluation and market pricing of new and revised positions. Based on analysis, recommends appropriate salary ranges and develops job descriptions that reflect appropriate title, essential functions, qualifications and requirements. Conducts internal comparisons to ensure wage and salary range recommendations are equitable. Maintains and controls position description documentation and job code table.
Participates in the merit review process. Analyzes market data and makes recommendations regarding salary increase budget, merit matrix and structure adjustments. Models and calculates the impact of projected increases. Enters approved salary increases in the HRIS/Payroll system.
Participates in the design and administration of incentive/bonus programs for all applicable employees. Meets with management to review and update compensation plans. Provides method for determining bonus payout.
Participates in compensation surveys. Reviews and adjusts survey matches to ensure the best match to market. Compiles and submits requested data. Analyzes results and makes recommendations according to survey findings. Recommends new surveys and discontinuation of less useful surveys as budget allows.
Provides management reports for Human Resources and other departments. Creates reports from HRIS system using spreadsheet, database and report writing applications. Writes reports for other HR users and assists them in creating reports.
Counsels HR generalists and department managers in the administration and interpretation of salary administration policies. Responds to requests regarding employee compensation and researches and formulates proposals for negotiation.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field, or equivalent in education and experience.
3-5 years of experience in compensation, including sales compensation Experience with HRIS/Payroll systems Proficiency with spreadsheet, database and report writing applications Strong analytical and organizational skills Strong attention to detail Effective communication skills Good interpersonal skills Ability to negotiate effectively
