They form the foundation of our SUPERVALU Advantage - the key to our continuing success.Title: Business Systems Analyst I, II, Sr - Oracle Retail*This position can be located in either Eden Prairie, MN or Boise, ID or Salt Lake City, UTPRIMARY FUNCTIONThe Business Systems Analyst Family for Oracle Retail Merchandising is responsible for eliciting and translating business and/or technical needs in to relevant documentation for assigned initiatives/projects. The BSA is responsible for establishing consensus among stakeholders and/or project team members in relationship to assigned deliverables. The BSA provides leadership and a collaborative approach to integrating the stakeholder needs with the project activities and facilitating communication across the project and IT service teams involved in solution development related activities. The BSA demonstrates the ability to perform job functions in an independent manner, with limited coaching. The BSA is capable of performing on multiple projects and can be assigned a mentor or be a mentor to work closely with other BSA’s and peer team members, guiding them to execute job functions and related processes in alignment with company standardsAdditional Function for a senior position:The BSA Sr. demonstrates the ability to perform job functions in an independent manner. The BSA Sr. acts as a driver of collaboration across project and service teams and serves as a liaison for project managers, managers, directors, stakeholders and other leadership as appropriate. The BSA Sr. is capable of performing on multiple enterprises level projects/initiatives and can be assigned as a mentor to work closely with BSA I and BSA II team members, guiding them to execute job functions and related processes in alignment with company standards. This position also regularly contributes to the identification and/or delivery of functional area process improvements.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES Assists/Performs/Leads in the gathering, analysis, documentation, and validation of business and / or technical needs using interviews, workshops, modeling techniques. Assists/Write in documenting the business and / or technical needs using textual, and visual, modeling deliverables designed to help SUPERVALU meet its strategic objectives, in accordance with the SUPERVALU methodology. Facilitates groups of individuals, representing significant diversity in interest and level of leadership, to a common understanding of a solution. Participates/Fosters/Lead team building and self-driven skill development through active involvement in appropriate training, mentoring, and certification programs. Consults with subject matter experts and project team members to identify and documents potential business and technology solutions. Identifies, coordinates, manages, and tracks business and technical needs objectives throughout the project’s lifecycle. Identifies and communicates project issues and risks to the IT and business unit management with suggested mitigation and resolution approach options. Demonstrates a comprehensive/advance understanding of assigned functional domains, and their integrations with other functional domains, while analyzing retail industry trends and researching functional best practices. Supports/Manage/Leads day-to-day business interaction and business expectations in relationship to assigned deliverables, with the guidance of functional manager, project manager, and mentor. Builds/Establishes/Develop collaborative relationships with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, functional domain leadership, and other IT disciplines and service teams. Works/Participates with assigned BSA mentor for guidance and information related to project and process execution efforts. Additional Responsibilities and Activities for Senior Position Leads interaction with business owners, subject matter experts and project team members, collaborating to identify, develop, and document potential business and technology solutions. Identifies, evaluates, and communicates issues and risks, related to business processes to project, IT and business unit management, developing mitigation strategies in collaboration with business and project team members. Leads project or initiative tasks with relevant team members, stakeholders, and functional domain leadership. Integrates with other disciplines and service teams to ensure integration of analyst deliverable and process improvement efforts. Assists with the development of content to support mentoring, skill building training, or tool related Demonstrates competencies as outlined in applicable Business Systems Analyst Specialties (see below).BSA SPECIALITIESRequirements Definition and Management Analyst:Primary Function: Assists/Responsible/Leads in the gathering, analysis, validation, and documentation of business and / or technical needs, using interviews, workshops, modeling techniques, for the purpose of identifying IT solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals. Participates in developing, documenting, and interpreting strategic and functional level business processes and documenting logical data models across all business areas of the enterprise. Actively seeks/ participates and collaborates in the Requirements Management Discipline and Requirements Management Services team and obtains peer review feedback to grow and develop skills. Contributes/Maintains the Enterprise Requirements Management Repository to ensure the accurate solution’s requirements are managed through its lifecycle. Identifies, submits, and drives the development of requirements management process improvement needs. Leverage existing collateral (requirements, documentation, research, or other materials). Familiar/Experience with ProVision business process modeling tool. Utilizes Provision to document and manage business process designs Participates in the monthly Provision User Forum sessions for the purpose of sharing best practices to maximize feature utilization. Collaborates/ Performs in Business Process Design responsibilities under significant advisement of Business Process Designer Read and comprehend Vision Models and Business Process Design artifact documents. Understands the purpose and inter-relationships of Data Models, including Domain Model, Logical Model, and Physical Data Model, performing domain models under advisement of an Information Architect. Understands/comprehensive understanding of the basic principles behind information management and stewardship, effectively utilizing enterprise information management concepts and contributing new content where applicable.. Observes/Performs Logical Data Modeling sessions for the purpose of producing Domain Models, under the advisement of an Information Architect. Conducts assessments of how existing requirements management collateral (documentation, research or other materials) can be more effectively utilized throughout their related functional domain, where applicable Defines and documents single workflow business processes with a limited number of simple business interactions according to Business Process Design artifact standards. Additional Requirements for Senior Definition and Management Analyst: Defines and documents multiple workflow business processes with multiple complex business interactions according to Business Process Design artifact standards. Performs Business Process Design responsibilities under advisement of the Business Process Designer Comprehensive understanding of the purpose, interrelationships of the Data Models, including Domain Model, Logical Model, and Physical Data Model, performing domain models under advisement with Information Architecture team. Bachelor’s degree in related field or applicable on-the-job training, vocational training or work experience. Experience with Oracle Retail Merchandising (Retek) or other similar ERP solutions highly desirable. Experience with ProVision and Requisite Pro a plus Must have strong computer skills and be proficient in use of desktop tools (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) required for the position. Ability to manage competing priorities Must work effectively in a team/multi-geography environment. Preferred experience in Information Technology Experience in retail and supply chain organizations a plus. Some travel may be required to accomplish job duties. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment. Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal.
