Join a global organization that is fueled by the diversity and talent of its entire workforce.General Summary:The Technologist I provides support for the biocompatibility processes and related technical support to site specific project teams in support of new product development, regulatory submissions and manufacturing and engineering changes to meet business objectives. Duties and Responsibilities (including those within the quality system):The Technologist I operates as a biocompatibility specialist who is responsible for writing Biocompatibility Assessments and Reports, assessing test data, and sending out test samples. Other responsibilities include working closely with Research and Manufacturing to support projects that need biocompatibility assessments and consulting with members of Corporate Toxicology and other BSC departments to provide information and recommendations regarding biocompatibility issues. This position is also responsible for coordinating, developing and maintaining systems, procedures and protocols pertaining to biocompatibility.Job Experience:Qualifications (Minimum Education & Experience):This position requires knowledge and ability typically associated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Engineering or a closely related scientific discipline and 0-3 ears experience; plus evidence of continuing self-development. It also requires evidence of knowledge of human and laboratory animal anatomy and physiology, an acquired solid background of technical knowledge and experience in biocompatibility testing requirements related to ISO 10993 standards. Additional experience working with functional divisions including quality assurance, Contract Research Organizations, or operations personnel is needed as well. Working Conditions:The position resides in the Natick Corporate facility and is housed within the Corporate Quality Area. The technologist interacts with scientists, engineers, and specialists from both corporate and divisional project teams. Training is on-the-job following corporate procedures and one-on-one interactions with Corporate Toxicology and Biocompatibility staff. Travel requirements for this position are less than 5% per year.Competencies:? Excellent communication and presentation skills (articulate and persuasive).?
