Associate Director - QC

Title: Associate Director - QCReq: 01064Location: Gaithersburg MDPosition Summary:The position is responsible for the QC laboratory located in MedImmune Gaithersburg Maryland facility. The position is responsible for all environmental monitoring utility and in-process testing for our pilot manufacturing and testing facilities located in Gaithersburg.Responsibilities include the following:1. Clinical manufacturing QC laboratory management. 2. The testing includes environmental monitoring water and utility system microbiological and chemical testing and In-process product testing.3. Sampling operations for environmental monitoring utilities and in-process operations.4. Raw material testing.5. Management of LIMS data systems and generation of trend reports.6. Management and effective operations and lab improvements through Operational Excellence tools such as DMAIC 5S and error proofing concepts.7. Manage staff effectively including strong performance management and team building efforts.8. Provide leadership direction and mentoring to ensure that the QC organization is successful in meeting the quality and manufacturing objectives in support of corporate goalsAdditional Job Functions:1. Facilitate the growth and development of QC staff2. Excellent communicationsTypical Experience:7-10 years experience in Commercial Quality Organizations. Proven track record in Managing a diverse fast paced organization.Technical Knowledge:Commercial QualityComputer Skills:LIMS Outlook InSight Internet Explorer MS Powerpoint MS Project MS Excel MS WordEducations: Typical Education:Masters accepted but PhD preferred: Ideal Candidate would possess a comprehensive background in Analytical Chemistry and Microbiology with formal qualifications in one of these or related disciplines.
