Assistant Project Manager
Responsibilities Serves as Assistant Project Manager responsible for the overall management, control, coordination, and execution of assigned tasks for the Communications/Electronics Shop Implements corporate decisions, guidance, laws, regulations, and policy in the performance of the project. Ensures that all safety rules and regulations are followed by all employees and that quality control is an integral part of work performance; shall be engaged with sufficient education, training and experience that he/she can act as the Project Manager in the Project Manager’s absence; shall have sufficient management experience that will provide technicians with proper leadership and training to complete all assigned tasks in a proficient manner thus maintaining the level of excellence required at the site. He/she will have the ability to communicate complex communication/equipment repair and/or replacement projects, intricate maintenance schedules, work plans, statements of work (SOW), and detailed cost estimates and will serve as the secondary point of contact for work control.The Assistant Project Manager will ensure schedule and cost goals are being met daily and that the scope of work on this project is completed satisfactorily. Ensures that Site Security is in accordance with the primary contract and/or as defined/instructed by the Contracting Officer. Enforces site safety in accordance with the primary contract and the approved Site Safety and Health Plan (Accident Prevention Plan).  Controls and manages project milestones and budgets from planning through operations. Reviews project progress measuring performance and taking necessary corrective actions to maintain agreed upon schedule and cost. Based on performance trends ensures proper resolution of issues raised. Reconciles customer concerns assuring that all participating parties are informed of project progress, issues, and impacts. Assist in reviewing project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project. Assists in establishing work plan and staffing for each phase of project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel. Assists in conferring with project staff to outline work-plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority. Assists in reviewing status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required. Coordinates project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies. Prepares project reports for management, client, or others. Performs other duties as assigned.
 Qualifications
  Applicant Must: Be computer literate. Have a valid Drivers License. Have High School Diploma or GED. Be able to read and communicate effectively. Background and Security Investigation required
Physical Requirements
Applicant for this position is required to: Work in a sitting position for 8 or more hours per day. Stand, walk, bend and step in industrial environments on a frequent basis. Have sufficient vision, either natural or corrected, to identify safety signs, warnings, etc. Lift up to 10 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds as needed. Travel to job locations by automobile and/or commercial airline. Have sufficient hearing, either natural or corrected, to respond to alarms, sirens, etc.
