About the opportunity:
Currently,we are recruiting for an Assistant Parts Manager in our West Haven, CTlocation. This position is responsiblefor the efficient management of the Parts Department and providing the highestlevel of service to the customer while operating within the guidelines of companypolicy. The Assistant Parts Managerprocures, receives, stocks, sells, disburses, costs, and tracks inventory ofparts and supplies.
Core Responsibilities:
· Maintainsa work schedule and work flow to realize maximum production and efficiency forthe customer and the Company.
· SupervisesParts employees in inventory control, customer billing, paper flow, shipping,receiving, stocking and housekeeping.
· Coordinates,directs and ensures that levels of parts, supplies, equipment and tools areefficiently maintained.
· Coordinatesand directs disbursement of parts and supplies to technicians and customers.
· Responsiblefor maintaining the Parts Library and retrieving information (from books,electronic catalog and other computerized systems) on multiple models of RefuseBodies and Equipment.
· Provideswell-defined procedures for cash, check and credit card sales, stock orders,emergency orders, inbound/outbound material shipments.
· Conductsperiodic inventory physical check versus computer balance.
· Processespurchase orders and counter billings (invoices).
· WarrantyFiling, Tracking and Management
· Effectivelycontrol inventory by managing inventory levels through consistent achievementof acceptable ‘turns’ and minimizing slow-moving and obsolete parts.
Ideal candidate would possess:
• Threeyears sales experience preferably in the truck body business
• Positive can-do attitude
· Excellentoral and written communication skills
•Good organizational and interpersonal skills
•Excellent customer service skills
•Strong work ethic and commitment
Requirements:
· Mustbe self motivated and able to think outside the box and work in a teamenvironment
· Abilityto make independent decisions with little or no supervision.
· Competentknowledge of business software systems, such as Microsoft Office and GreatPlaines.
· Abilityto lift up to 70lbs
· Goodverbal communications skills and telephone etiquette.
· Detailoriented; attention to detail and follow through.
· Provenorganization skills in handling multiple tasks/customers
· Demonstratedworking knowledge of mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication,division) including calculation of discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
· Ableto pass a back ground and drug testing screening.
Education and Experience:
· Highschool diploma or equivalent GED.
· Minimumfive years experience in automotive or truck services with working knowledge oftruck parts applications.
· Previousexperience in inventory control, data entry, procurement and disbursement, andsupervisory experience essential.
