Assistant Manager

The Assistant Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of multiple water and waste water systems and facilities. Assumes responsibility for insuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the Department by: a. Formulating departmental goals, strategies, and operating policies and procedures and directing implementation of approved changes. b. Making recommendations on employees regarding employment, performance appraisal, salary changes, promotions, transfers, or terminations. c. Insuring productivity levels are maintained through effective monitoring of staffing levels and financial requirements. d. Guiding personnel to achieve optimum performance levels. Assists in the development and administration of budgets Conducts routine equipment and job sites inspection with the Area Manager Assures compliance to permits and safety regulations Meets with local, state, and federal agencies at facilities to perform site inspections Informs operations group of any distribution problems Reviews work orders Assists Area Manager with monthly safety training Handles complex customer complaints Interfaces with internal maintenance department and outside sub-contractors Ensures that all repair material, supplies, equipment, and safety equipment are purchases and available to personnel as needed. Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions. Other duties may be assigned       High School diploma or GED and 5-7 years related experience in a supervisory role in the water and wastewater field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
