Aquatic Director

The Belmont Hill Club located in Belmont, MA (not easily accessibly by public transporation) is a small private swim and tennis facility with indoor and outdoor facilities.  The Aquatic Director position is a hands-on, full time position that carries benefits, but averages about 30 hours per week.  Benefits include medical, dental, 401k option, and vacation.  Ideal candidate must be current in lifeguard certification, including CPR and First Aid and Water Safety Instruction (may be arranged for right candidate). 

Responsibilities and Guidelines: Reports to the Club Manager Design, promote, manage and instruct in the Club’s Swim Programs for juniors (September through June) as well as adults year round. Market all swim programs offered: develop and coordinate programs to the membership 2-3 times a year detailed information on swim programs being offered, prices and registration forms. Direct, teach and coach the swim portion of the Club’s summer camp program (including summer swim team), for six weeks (usually starts the first week of July). Attend associated meetings, coordinate meets and other duties associated with this particular task. Hire and manage the appropriate number of Instructors to assist. Monitor the registration of each program and submit accurate information to the office for billing. Hire, train and manage staff necessary to the operation of the club’s pools, including lifeguards for PM and weekend shifts (The Aquatic Director is expected to maintain morning hours which include guarding the pool). Keep the club compliant with all relevant laws and regulations by ensuring staff are current in all certificates necessary to perform the responsibilities of a lifeguard. It is expected that the Aquatic Director will serve as a back up for any lifeguard position that is unfilled (including no-shows). Post guard schedule at office and on bulletin board at pool. Provide private swim lessons to members only. Perform light maintenance of pools and coordinate major maintenance tasks. Meet with the Club Manager on a regular basis to set goals, evaluate progress of programs and to continue to strive for quality aquatic programs and lessons. Arrange purchase of swim program supplies.
