Application Analyst

Job Description:Large reputbale Health Care company is seeking an Application Administrator to ensure high availability, security and integrity of assigned applications The Application Administrator monitors the health of the application, including setting alerts to maintain the stability of the environment and application, and monitoring error logs; The Application Administrator is responsible for problem management of the entire environment and troubleshoots system events or refers to appropriate IT departments for example the USD application manager system owner and administrators within the EIT organisation, or vendor. The Application Administrator may install, oversee or coordinate the installation of application patches, upgrades and releases on development, test, quality assurance, and production systems - plays an active role in change and release management. The Application Administrator ensures adherence to Service Level agreements regarding application availability and performance. The Application Administrator serves as a liaison to other IT departments and application vendors regarding installations, database management; server maintenance, licensing and upgrade issues. As stated earlier the Application Administrator serves as key person in troubleshooting system problems, taking ownership of problems through to resolution - the formal role of Problem Manager is assumed. Effectively manages communication between Business Units; Business Analysts; vendors, and IT departments to solve production, development, and quality assurance environment problems quickly. The Application Administrator maintains current description and documentation of application and technical configuration, including tracking and documenting any changes to environments - the formal role of configuration management and CMDB management is assumed. The Application Administrator assists in capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning, and data assurance on assigned systems. Participates in data backups and recovery and drives disaster recovery planning, including assisting with fault tolerance and disaster recovery plans where appropriate. The Application Administrator analyzes environmental performance trends to optimize application and technical performance and ensures reporting of downtime on production environment where appropriate.



Job Experience:Requirements/Education: Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent. Typically a minimum of four plus years of system administration or related experience. Formal training and experience in current MS Windows Client Architecture, a demonstrated working knowledge of the application of remote control software, demonstrated troubleshooting experience with remote access issues, demonstrated experience with support of custom software applications, Virtual Private Network (VPN), and dial-up networking for all MS-Windows products. Demonstrated oral and written interpersonal, communication, analytical, presentation, and organizational skills are required, as well as the ability to meet deadlines/work independently. Must be adept at handling multiple assignments in a timely manner and meeting assigned deadlines. Evaluation, originality and/or ingenuity required. Requires extensive troubleshooting experience with remote access issues. Desired Requirements: A relevant advanced degree and/or appropriate professional certification is preferred, knowledge of:. HP's SiteScope; BAC and Diagnostics tools are advantageous.. Knowledge of Callidus suite of technologies is considered extremely advantageous.. Knowledge of WebSphere 5.x and above is desirable.. Knowledge of Informatica and scripting is desirable.. Knowledge of ITIL is a nice to have
