Full Time, Temporary/Contract/Project Job Category: Medical/Health Relevant Work Experience: Less than 1 Year Career Level: Student (High School) Education Level: High School or equivalent Company: Synerfac Technical Staffing Email: Apply by Email Website: www.synerfac.com Animal Care Technician ANIMAL CARE TECHNICIANRESPONSIBLITIES: The major purpose or reasons for the existence of a jobResponsible for the care and maintenance of the animals and animal housing environment according to schedule and in a manner consistent with SOPs, cGMP and the “Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (The Guide)â€�.DUTIES: A group of tasks that constitute one of the distinct and major activities involved in the work performed. 1. Maintain written and electronic records in accordance with SOPs, cGMP and The Guide.2. Daily animal observation to ensure adequate food/water and identify any health related issues and/or deaths since previous day; immediate communication of any problems to lead/supervisor.3. Record all environmental and equipment monitoring data according to schedule; immediate communication of non-conforming data to lead/supervisor.4. Change, vacuum and clean animal cages; change and clean water bottles; clean and disinfect floors, rooms and support areas according to schedule.5. New animal receipt and supply transfer from loading dock into the facility.6. Animal euthanasia and proper disposal of carcasses.7. Empty bedding collection drums and facility trash according to schedule.8. Report any equipment problems and/or inventory shortages to lead/supervisor.9. Change HVAC roof top filters and interior facility exhaust filters according to schedule.
