Accountant/Analyst - Operations

bkm Total Office, a leading office furniture and distribution services dealer seeks an Accountant / Financial Analyst – Operations.  We are located throughout Connecticut and have an exceptional reputation for quality and service. While reporting to the Financial Controller, this position will also have significant daily interaction with Operations management.  This will involve active participation in most aspects of Operations throughout the State such as:

 

Job Costing and Estimation  Invoicing

Financial Reporting    Vendor Payables

Budgeting      Operations Management Reporting

Financial Analysis   Process Improvement

 

This position will generally involve 40 to 45 hours per week but may require additional time based on the needs of the business.  Position is mainly located in our East Hartford location but requires a presence at various locations.

 

Success will be achieved first by fully understanding bkm’s economic model, secondly by supporting the Operations’ team and finally by utilizing information to improve the processes and profits.  Specific tasks that may be required include:

 

· Monitor and analyze job costing, budgets and variances.

· Participate in Operations’ financial budget planning and reporting.

· Investigate and resolve customer invoicing issues.

· Review, approve and code supplier invoices.

· Educate internal customers on Operations’ policies and procedures.

· Advise Operations’ management of issues

· Other tasks as assigned.

 

 Experience Desired:

Ideal candidate will have at least two years experience and:

 

· College degree

· Track record of success

· Computer skills

· Presentation skills – verbal and written

· Problem-solving skills

· Customer oriented

· Desire and ability to learn

 Training

Training will be provided to broaden person’s knowledge of operations, accounting and financial analysis.
