Position Description
The Account Director will have a proven track record in building strong client relationships in the clinical research industry. Successful candidates will be able to achieve and maintain positive client relationships. Must be able to design and deliver powerful capabilities and proposal defense presentations in conjunction with highly skilled clinical and operation personnel; create business opportunities through industry relationships; proactively work with customer and project teams to resolve sponsor issues by helping to create specific action plans that support the customer and the project team. The position will also communicate industry events and trends to company leadership and management. The candidate will need to identify and develop business and cultivate existing client relationships by developing outstanding rapport with clients and business partners. This person must be self-motivated and have the ability to meet or exceed company goals while working independently.
Requirements
Qualifications include BA/BS degree with at least 6 years experience in business development and/or clinical research, preferably in the pharmaceutical services industry
Thorough knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and terminology, understanding of the drug development process and the role of CROs in that process
Candidate must be able to establish and maintain effective internal and external relationships
Ambition and self-motivation are essential. Strong sales, negotiation, organization, and presentation skills with an eye for detail are required
Candidate must possess strong work ethic and excellent oral and written communication skills
Approximately 50% travel.
