ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL SYSTEMS - Linthicum, MD

Qualifications - Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written - Ability to document business and functional requirements - Ability to manage priorities - Demonstrated leadership skills, particularly within small teams and among peers - Strong presentation skills, including to executives EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: - 4 year degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or related field - 10 or more years work experience in Finance, Accounting or related field and experience working with financial and operating systems; Hyperion and JD Edwards preferred. - Candidates must show evidence of an inclination towards continuous learning Responsibilities The Assistant Director of Financial Systems is responsible for a subset of the centralized database management, interfaces management, and training of the finance software. The Assistant Director coordinates with the sub departments and Information Technologies on enhancement, error resolution and process improvement projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to): - Plan, design and development training manuals and execute training session for end users - Devise and implement procedures to meet the company and department strategy - Establish policies and procedures that ensure adequacy of internal controls - Plan, design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of applications and enhancements to existing applications within the finance department - Benchmark, analyze, report and make recommendations for system improvements - Research on technology solutions - Develop business case justifications and ROI analysis - Keep current with the latest technologies as it relates to the finance department - Depending on the department reporting structure the following may be necessary: - Manage staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development and disciplinary actions - Perform timely informative evaluations for direct reports EEO Statement In conformity with applicable laws, Erickson Retirement Communities, Inc. and its affiliates are Equal Opportunity Employers and do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, sex, age, marital status, national origin, or physical or mental disability, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by law or unrelated to job requirements.
