ART DIRECTOR

ART DIRECTOR

Specialty Catalog, one of the nation's leading multi-channel direct marketers, seeks a talented, detail-oriented, focused, energetic Art Director to join our Team. With a modern, efficient and finely-tuned infrastructure, we serve the women's hair fashion, medical hair loss, and apparel markets as well as providing continuing education for professionals.

From operations in the U.S. and the United Kingdom our catalogs, websites and retail stores serve a multinational cross section of customers around the world.

 

The ideal candidate would:

 

-Work to support the Creative Director and creative department by leading and directing cross-disciplinary development and execution of short-term and long-term creative ideas across all brands for catalog, direct mail and advertising.

-Develop strategic design and practices to help the company achieve their overall business plans and goals.

-Provide art direction of the catalogs and peripherals. Take ownership of the final production and quality of catalogs and brand representation.

-Establish both internal team and external client relations.

-Communicates effectively with others as well as possesses exceptional presentation skills.

-Makes recommendations regarding current and future design approaches and supports those recommendations with sound rationale.

-Adhere to approved catalog schedules, manage photo shoots, and maintain open communication with vendors to meet strict deadlines.

-Travel as needed.

 

Requires experience with Quark 7 and Adobe CS3 (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) on a Macintosh OSX. Candidates with catalog experience are preferred.

 

Qualifications include:

 

- Proven, innovative creative skills.

- Experience directing photography (fashion or beauty experience a plus).

- Strong working knowledge of Quark Software.

- Strong working knowledge of Adobe CS3 suite of applications (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).

- Capacity to multi-task and work quickly and accurately under deadlines.

- Ability to work without constant supervision within a busy office.

- Good eye for detail, deep sense of personal responsibility, and desire to create a quality end-product.

- Good organizational skills.

- Strong presentation skills.
