FUNCTION AND SCOPE:Lead the development and maintenance of custom applications to support ACC’s core business systems. The developer’s role is to write, code, test, and analyze software programs and applications. This includes researching, designing, documenting, and modifying software specifications throughout the production life cycle. The developer will also analyze and amend software errors in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide status reports where required. Support other client/server and web-based systems, including ACC’s web sites, third party vendor interfaces, off-the-shelf enterprise software, and other custom developed solutions. . MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Assist developers, analysts, and designers in conceptualizing and development of new software programs and applications.2. Assist in the preparation and documentation of program requirements and specifications.3. Research and document requirements of program users.4. Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications.5. Run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.6. Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas. 7. Install software products for end users as required.8. Write programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or appearance of company Web site and/or related Web applications as necessary.9. Conduct research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.10. Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades.11. Liaise with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems. 12. Manage and/or provide guidance to junior programmers and research assistants.13. Produces technical specifications based on requirements.14. Responsible for technical design, execution, and implementation of custom and 3rd party software solutions.15. Interacts with project management group to ensure accurate and comprehensive understanding of data and reporting requirements.16. Assists management team in standards development, management, and conformance.17. Provides issue escalation and resolution as well as timely execution of deadlines.18. Create and maintain project documentation. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:1. Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, computer science, business administration, or a related field and/or 2-3 years equivalent work experience. 2. Five or more years development experience with classic ASP, ASP.Net, HTML, XML, VBScript, and JavaScript. Must be able to demonstrate mastery of C#, the .Net Framework, and classic ASP.3. Three or more years of experience with SQL Server 2000 / 2005 including: designing database schemas, building and deploying databases, writing complex stored procedures, queries, and views, and experience with creating DTS packages. ESSENTIAL/SPECIFIC SKILLS AND ABILITIES:1. Working technical knowledge of programming languages, including C# and ASP.2. Extensive database and operating systems experience with MS SQL Server.3. Thorough understanding of platforms such as Windows 2003 and Internet Information Server.4. Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies, including .Net Framework, AJAX, and web services.5. Hands-on software troubleshooting experience.6. Flexible and adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new technologies.7. Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.8. Ability to conduct research into software-related issues and products. GENERAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:1. Strong written and oral communication skills.2. Strong interpersonal skills.3. Self-directed and proactive; thinks beyond the immediate problem.4. Flexibility, ability to change priorities quickly, and capacity to handle multiple tasks.5. Work directly with both internal and external resources to insure timely completion of assigned deliverables6. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Keen attention to detail.7. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.8. Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:1. Experience developing and creating Silverlight applications2. Experience developing and integrating Flash components3. Experience using and configuring Google’s search appliance4. Experience configuring and customize WebTrends 5.
