Visitor Services Representative

The American Museum of Natural History is one of the world's preeminent scientific and cultural institutions. Since its founding in 1869, the Museum has advanced its global mission to discover, interpret and disseminate information about human cultures, the natural world and the universe through a wide-ranging program of scientific research, education and exhibition. The Museum is renowned for its exhibitions and scientific collections, which serve as a field guide to the entire planet and present a panorama of the world's cultures.

 

The mission of the Visitor Services Department is summed up neatly in our name: to provide services – and service – to Museum visitors. We accept the responsibility and opportunity for setting the tone for our visitors’ entire experience by providing high quality attention, kindness and information.

 

The Visitor Services Department is seeking PT Visitor Services Representatives. Customer Service skills a must. Cash handling experience required. All candidates must be flexible and available to work weekends. Candidates must have a HS Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.

 

These positions require heavy public contact in a faced-paced environment. Candidates are required to give information, directions and guidance to visitors on everything from how to spend their time to navigating through the Museum. Candidates are also required to stand for long periods and greet visitors as they enter the Museum with a warm smile and a helpful attitude.

 

The rate of pay for entry level Visitor Services Representative positions is $10.00 per hour.
