Each year, Vinfen provides a comprehensive array of services to children, youths and adults with psychiatric, developmental and behavioral disabilities. Vinfen’s 2,000 dedicated employees are experienced, highly trained professionals who provide a full range of educational, rehabilitative, and clinical services in more than 300 programs throughout eastern Massachusetts and northern Connecticut.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Recovery Specialist to join our PACT Team!

Position Description: The Lawrence Program of Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) is a multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals who provide outreach treatment services to DMH referred clients in the North East area. The Recovery Specialist will provide Peer counseling and support to, drawing on common experiences as a peer, to validate clients’ experiences and to provide guidance and encouragement to clients to take responsible and actively participate in their own recovery. They will serve as mentor to clients and act as interpreter to help non-mental health consumer team members better understand and empathize with each client’s unique and subjective experience and perceptions. They will help clients identify, understand and combat stigma and discrimination associated with mental illness and develop strategies to reduce self-stigma. Additionally, the Recovery Specialist will increase awareness of and support client participation in consumer self-help programs and consumer advocacy organizations that promote recovery. They will also serve as the liaison between the team and consumer-run programs such as self-help groups and drop-in centers.

Additional Job Information:  A High School Degree or GED and 1-2 years of work experience required. The Recovery Specialist is required to have a valid US driver’s license for at least one year and have use of a reliable vehicle.

Schedule: This is a full-time position with a 4 day a week work schedule. Weekly schedule will include two, 8 hour days and two,12 hour days.
