Sr. Accountant/Accountant

The Jewish Board of Family and Children Services (JBFCS) is one of the nation’s largest and the most respected non-profit mental health and social service agencies serving over 65,000 New Yorkers annually from all religious, ethnic, and economic backgrounds through a comprehensive range of programs

 

JBFCS is looking to fill various positions within the Fiscal Department as Sr. Accountant or Accountant depending on experience. The Accountant handles all daily accounting operations such as reconciliation of general ledger and balance sheets, processing of journal entries, month-end and year-end processing, preparation of financial statements, payroll processing and assisting with the production of reports. This position is also responsible for ensuring the agency maintains accurate and timely accounting records to meet compliance requirements.  

 

Job Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Business Administration or other related degree Must have at least 1-5 years of progressive experience in general accounting in a non-profit or healthcare organization; knowledge of OMRDD regulations is highly desirable Must have intermediate computer skills using MS Excel and other MS Office products
