Social Work Supervisor -East New York Family Center

The Brooklyn Bureau of Community Service is one of Brooklyn’s oldest and largest non-sectarian social services agencies.  The Brooklyn Bureau has been a leading provider of social services to families, children, and adults with disabilities since 1866.  The Brooklyn Bureau, which pserves more than 13,000 individuals annually, is committed to a broad and diverse range of services including prevention of foster care placement; crisis intervention; early childhood and after school education; and vocational training, job placement, and clinical services to adults with physical and developmental disabilities, and histories of mental illness. 

 

Our Family Preservation program stabilizes families and prevents the unnecessary or inappropriate placement of children into foster care.  For more than 20 years, we have served in Brooklyn’s high-need East New York neighborhood.  BBCS provides intensive clinical services using a family systems approach.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Exciting opportunity to ensure the provision of family therapy.

· Provide comprehensive clinical and administrative  supervision to four Masters level social workers engaged in intensive individual, couple, and family treatment with small caseloads of families with children of all ages

· Assist with intake process to ensure rapid engagement of families.

· Participate in training staff in family therapy.

· Weekly supervision by an LCSW. 

· Collegial atmosphere.  No managed care paperwork. 

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:  LMSW, LCSW strongly preferred.

Minimum of six years post MSW experience.

Knowledge of family systems required.

  Spanish bi-lingual preferred, but not required.

 

Hours: Full time, 2 days a week until 7:30 p.m.
