Senior Accountant
Senior Accountant
Phipps Houses is one of the nation's oldest and largest not-for-profit developer/owners of affordable housing. It is a multi-faceted real estate organization, involved in the development, finance, construction and asset management of new and rehabilitated multi-family housing for low to middle income New Yorkers. Through its subsidiary, Phipps Houses Services, Inc., it conducts residential and some commercial property management, and it's tax exempt 501(c)(3) affiliate, Phipps Community Development Corporation (PCDC), provides human services to its development communities.
Due to growth, Phipps Houses and affiliates is currently seeking a Senior Accountant with recent real estate experience. The successful candidate must possess a minimum of 5 years' experience. CPA or some public accounting experience preferred.
The successful candidate will have a proven ability to balance multiple projects successfully, deal with deadlines and work in a fast paced environment. Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to exercise sound judgment, make effective decisions and possess strong computer skills. Knowledge of Excel required; Yardi and BJMurray programs a plus.
Salary up to $75K depending on experience. The organization also offers excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision and pension.
