GENERAL SUMMARY: Position is on the research staff of a private, not-for-profit management consulting firm headquartered in McLean, VA. This is an off-site position in the Crystal City, VA area in support of an US Army Direct Reporting Unit Command Headquarters. The primary objective of this work is the elimination or minimization of human injury and property and productivity losses, caused by harmful contact incidents, through the design of effective management policies, programs, or practices. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Include but are Not Limited To:Assist Army unit safety staff with the development of recommendations and solutions related to safety and occupational health program management with an emphasis on SOH policy analysis, performance measurement, program implementation, evaluation and training Specific types of tasks include, but are not limited to:· Work with the command's safety program staff and other contractors to support development and execution of the command's safety program.· Interface with Army management to monitor meetings and provide general support.· Keep abreast of government safety program agency requirements in various program areas including all aspects of a comprehensive safety program, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, occupational health and OSHA regulations. · Conduct a variety of studies and analysis to include strategic planning (e.g. scenario analysis, visioning, policy analysis, long-term milestone development, cost-benefit analysis, budget development, guidance development, or market surveying), program management support, (e.g. performance assessment and benchmarking, risk assessment, cost analysis, business enterprise architecture development, annual performance reporting, and customer satisfaction surveys), and technical support (e.g., application of the principles, standards, and techniques of safety and occupational health management; and pertinent elements of engineering, physical science, ergonomics, psychology, industrial hygiene and other scientific and technological fields).· Communicate the results and recommendation of analyses to clients through written reports and oral presentations. · Maintain successful client relationships. Minimum Qualifications: · Applicants to this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. For this position, LMI will only consider individuals who possess current security clearances or those who are eligible to obtain one. Please note that only US Citizens are eligible for security clearances.· Bachelors degree in safety, industrial hygiene or related field. · A minimum of 4 years professional experience in management of a safety program. · Experience with military staff headquarters procedures; preferably US Army experience.· Knowledge of federal safety and health policy and regulations · Understanding of the anticipation, identification, evaluation and control; and operational risk management constructs· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to compose, write, edit, and proofread research papers and a variety of internal and external general business correspondence.
