Registered NURSE - P/T Evenings
Under supervision of the Director of Nursing and in close cooperation with the Program Director, supervises routine and minor medical needs of clients. This is a part-time, evening position Monday through Thursday 4:00pm to 9:00pm, and Friday 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
Duties and Responsibilities
•Performs nursing assessments on clients upon admission, taking blood pressure, height, weight, and asking a range of questions about drug use and health status.
•Monitors and records vital signs.
•Performs triage and provides medical services accordingly.
•Performs TB screenings on all clients.
•For clients with health care needs, schedules and coordinates all medical appointments, and provides periodic follow-up.
•Works with the Consultant Physician to communicate with the client's family regarding their role and responsibility in ensuring client care, particularly for obtaining specialty care services.
•Reviews and transcribes medication orders, and monitors medication records for compliance; observes and records response to treatment/medication and notifies the Consultant Physician, the Director of Nursing, and the Program Director of any such instances.
•Monitors ongoing/chronic medical problems.
•Handles minor needs of clients including attending to minor injuries, administering routine medications.
•Delivers workshops on hygiene and health issues.
•Maintains all medical records.
Requirements
•R.N. required.
•Current CPR certification required.
•At least three years related experience.
