RESIDENTIAL THERAPIST

Responsibilities:

·         Provide therapeutic support to women in a community residential setting

·         Provide individual and group therapy

·         Perform Psycho-Social Histories and Evaluations

·         Develop and monitor treatment plans

·         Collaborate/Consult with Program Psychiatrist, Family Therapist, and Family Service Coordinator, to ensure integration of treatment issues into goal plans

·         Participate in treatment team meetings and Case Reviews

·         Provide written assessments of client treatment progress

·         Provide clinical reviews to funders, when needed

 

Skills:

·         Knowledge and understanding of substance abuse, trauma, and mental illness -----Competence in individual and group therapy with an emphasis on empowerment techniques

·         Familiarity with or experience in women-specific issues

·         Awareness of the needs of women from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds

·         Ability to provide a safe environment

·         Proficiency in DSM-IV R diagnostic nomenclature.

·         Proficiency in multi-modal and cognitive-behavioral treatment models, including case conceptualizations, treatment planning, and implementation.

·         Thorough knowledge of alcoholism and other addictions and appropriate treatment modalities

 

Experience:

At least one year experience in human services field or related setting

 

Education Requirement:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Human Services

 

Salary:

High 38,000-$42,000 depending on education and experience
