PRIMARY INSTRUCTOR, NURSE AIDE TRAINING PROGRAM (R.N. Only)

The American Red Cross, Southeastern (SEPA) Pennsylvania Chapter is currently searching for a Registered Nurse to teach as the Primary Instructor in the Nurse Aide Training Program.  The candidate selected for this position will assure that the information and skills that are taught will enable nurse aide graduates to provide quality care to residents in long-term care and other healthcare delivery systems. 

 

Pennsylvania RN Licensure, Train-the-Trainer Certification, and at least one (1) year experience working in long-term care (LTC) as a Registered Nurse required



 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Plan, teach and evaluate Nurse Assistant Training courses.

· Provide ongoing evaluation of student eligibility for course completion certification and counsel students appropriately.

· Maintain complete and accurate records and reports as required by the State Dept. of Education and the National American Red Cross.

· Ensures that all student documentation and records are completed in a timely manner.

· Keep up to date on information and skills related to educating nurse assistants in long-term care facilities, hospitals and home health care.

· Assist with the development and implementation of curriculum components such as teaching schedules, lesson plans and class schedules.

· Responsible for oversight of proper documentation of student progress and completion

 

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Provide technical and administrative support and guidance to instructors and students.

· Remain up to date on legislative regulations and training standards pertinent to nurse assistant education.

QUALIFICATIONS

· PA. Registered Nursing License

· Trained the Trainer Certified

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

· Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

· Two years of nursing experience one of which must be in long-term care. 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

· Good verbal and written skills a must. Ability to make presentations to both internal and external customers. 

· Ability to prepare critical reports in an efficient and timely manner.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Able to do mathematical calculations

 

REASONING ABILITY

Must have good reasoning skills.  Able to troubleshoot and problem solve

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Working knowledge of Word and other software programs.
