Overnight Vacation Trip Leader
Sprout (sprout) v., to begin to grow Innovative vacation programs for people with developmental disabilities. Sprout offers volunteer opportunities to lead vacation trips ranging in length between three and seven days mainly going to destinations in the US such as Lake George, Cape Cod and the Catskill Mountains. Responsibilities for volunteers include overseeing the safety and enjoyment of the group while having a great time yourselves. You co-lead small groups of adults with mild - moderate mental retardation. Group size is 3 leaders and 11 participants. All expenses are covered while volunteering on a trip except personal items. Daily stipend of $30 is paid after each trip. All trips depart from the Upper West Side in Manhattan. Requirements: You must be proficient in english, friendly, responsible, patient, caring, flexible and sensitive. Minimum age is 21. No experience needed. No alcohol on trips. Learn as you go attitude with high energy level. Driver's license and willingness to drive a 15 passenger van preferred. Positions available for our annual 5-day retreat in upstate New York for the following dates of August 25th through August 29th.  This  trip meets at 10am on Monday, August 25th and returns at 7pm on Friday, August 29th.
