GENERAL SUMMARY: Position is on the research staff of a not-for-profit government consulting organization headquartered in McLean, VA; duty site is the Pentagon. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Fill role as an operations support analyst in the Office of the Assistant Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (ADUSD) for Maintenance Policy and Programs (MPP). Participate in analyses on a variety of topics related to logistics management (for equipment, systems and sub-systems, e.g., aircraft fleets, vehicle fleets, and ships) and industrial operations (e.g., maintenance organization, production, resources, reliability, programming, and financial management). Participate in MPP strategic planning and key initiatives of major importance to the ADUSD. Drive action items of major importance to the ADUSD to appropriate closure. Assist with development of and ensure that all ADUSD external briefings and communications are accurate, current, coordinated, and appropriate to accomplish their intended purpose. Ensure ADUSD agenda appropriately reflects priorities and that planned meetings and calendar items support those priorities. Build and maintain strong relationships with executive staff of other organizations, stakeholders, and customers. Interact and coordinate with MPP staff officers on projects, taskings, and activities as may be appropriate to accomplish ADUSD priorities. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: · Bachelor's degree.· Knowledge of weapon systems maintenance, military organization and structure, and logistics operations preferred.· U.S. military/DoD background and 7-10 years of relevant work experience required. · Applicants for this position will be subjected to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
