Ombudsman Specialist II

EXCELLENT PT (30 hrs/wk) PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITY!

Catholic Social Services is seeking an Ombudsman Specialist II position to work in our main office to complete our Ombudsman staff with this new key position.  Responsibilities will include conducting regular visits to adult care facilities in the 8 county region; and addressing the complaints of adult care residents regarding their care and quality of life issues; advocating for the rights of these consumers via education to individuals, organizations, and legislators.

A demonstrated ability to handle conflict, confrontation and negotiation, while still maintaining the ability to work in culturally diverse populations and demonstrate flexibility and work independently is a must. Good written, verbal, public speaking and computer skills are also required

Once in the position, the candidate will be required to obtain their Certified Ombudsman Certification through the State's Ombudsman's Office.

We require a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in the Human Services field, and 2 years of related experience.  Long term care system experience preferred but not required.
