Logistics Coordinator

The North Texas Food Bank is seeking a Logistics Coordinator whose primary purpose will be to direct appropriate communications and assistance to solve fleet maintenance problems as well as ensure proper route operation by maintaining continuous communications with drivers.  The job responsibilities will include: Assist with all aspects of route planning, including scheduling of pick-ups and deliveries, route mapping, fueling, special events, etc; Maintain timely communication with management, drivers, customers, and vendors utilizing all available communication tools (phone, 2-way radio, e-mail, etc.); Process all route-related documentation, including adjustments, entry into accounting system (Navision), filing of paperwork, etc.; Receive and input all incoming donations into Navision; Provide coordination to as many as 10 drivers; Coordinate with receiving and accounting on all documentation needed for data input into Navision; Oversees maintenance and repair of truck fleet and schedule repair service when needed; Assist in the proper recording of Vehicle breakdowns and communicate concerns to Director of Operations; Cross-train with receiving coordinator in order to carry out duties during coordinators absence by planning, organizing, and executing shipping and receiving activities.

 

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required.  Minimum of 3 years of experience/training related to truck dispatch and/or warehouse operations. Requires solid communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.  The position requires a heavy amount of data entry, so familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite and Navision (or other warehouse management system) is a definite plus.
