Intake Worker-Bilingual (English/Spanish)
INTAKE WORKERSUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Project Coordinator conducts and facilitates intakes for clients referred by Child Welfare Services (CWS) to the Community Services for Families (CSF) collaborative project.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Conducts intakes for CSF clients as requested by CWS or CSF project staff.
· Serves as a resource person to CWS case managers and Child Abuse Hotline staff regarding case management and supportive services available in the designated region.
· Recommends providers, services and programs suitable for clients as various risk levels to include in CWS case plans.
· Completes County and supplementary intake forms for referred clients and transmits to CSF Project Coordinator
· Serves as principal project liaison with CWS staff at Levant Street and other locations.
· Maintains required program data and statistics.
· Remains culturally sensitive and respectful in all client and staff interactions.
· Participates in staff meetings, supervision, staff and County-CSF training, and other meeting as required.
· Performs outreach activities in the community as required.
· Establishes new linkages and maintains existing linkages with referral sources.
· Performs other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS Licenses and Certificates: Valid California driver’s license.Bilingual- English/Spanish required.Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field and a minimum of three years of job-related experience, including case management and direct service experience with at-risk, multiple problem families and children in both clinical and home-based settings.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Experience with and respect for diverse cultures. Experience in youth, family and community development methods. Comprehensive knowledge of regional resources to serve at-risk families. Familiarity with partner agency and program staff. Experience working on collaborative projects desirable. Ability to establish boundaries with clients and co-workers. Must develop knowledge of contract requirements. Compensation available for bilingual competence as appropriate.
