Human Resources Associate

Job Summary:  

 

The HR Associate is a key member of the HR team and will contribute to program services and provide administrative support.  His/her primary responsibilities will be in information system, maintenance and data analysis. S/he will partner with HR leadership and team members to support new employee processes, benefits administration, and general administrative support.  A commitment to supporting the mission, our values and HR administration is a must.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  Responsible for maintenance of HR systems, ensure accuracy and completeness of data. Create recurring or special reports for statistical analysis and compliance reporting;  Process new employee paperwork; prepare personnel files, and populate databases (HR OFFICE and Deltek); Perform benefit enrollment and terminations, monitor and reconcile benefit invoices. Understand benefit eligibility and compliance; assist in problem resolution; Manage the Cobra process.  Prepare letters for terminating staff, monitor receipt of premium payments. Notify participants of rate increases and termination of eligibility; Record leave taken. Reconcile HR OFFICE with Deltek system, and prepare quarterly reports for accounting; Gather information for internal communications, donor and management reports; Update employee data on the intranet.  Liaise with External Affairs department to ensure HR materials are up-to-date; Collaborate with the team on documentation in Stellent; Provide administrative support to the Principal Director of HR, primarily scheduling and documentation; and Participate in special HR projects as required.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent experience. 1-2 yrs experience in benefits administration and/or HRIS ideal. Foreign language ability in Spanish, French or Portuguese a plus. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Organizational and analytical skills. Strong problem ability. Able to handle sensitive and confidential information. Excellent communications skills, oral and written. Proficient in computer applications to include databases, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
