Hours:                                                  Full Time – Monday – Friday (typically 1:30 to 10pm)

Job Site:                                               West Street/Medical Van

Reports To:                                          Assistant Director of Transitional Programs

Exemption Status:                                 Exempt

 

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Health Care Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Assistant Director of Transitional Programs in overseeing the day to day operations of the Medical Clinic, Medical Van, and the Dental Clinic

 

RESPOSIBILITIES

 

Management

(Medical Van) Ensure that the basic mechanics on the Van are properly maintained through adherence to routine maintenance schedule Work with Street Outreach Team to ensure a safe environment on the van for clients, staff and medical volunteers when working on the van. Reach out to substance abusing street youth, or  youth at risk by bringing the Medical Van to established locations Refer youth to necessary services at Bridge or other agencies Orient new volunteers to the van Assist with recruitment and scheduling of volunteers Ensure that the medical van is properly equipped and stocked

 

(Medical Clinic) Schedule clients and conduct follow up on upcoming appointments Recruit and schedule volunteers Ensure that the clinic is properly equipped and stocked

 

(Dental Clinic) Schedule clients and conduct follow up on upcoming appointment Coordinate the scheduling of Harvard and Tufts Dental School as well private dental volunteers Assist with the flow of the clinic during nights of operation including preparation of chairs. Ensure the equipments are operating efficiently and the clinic is stocked with necessary supplies

 

 

 

 

 

Administration

  Compile all medical and dental statistics Attend the quarterly medical van consortium meeting Attend other meetings as needed Participate in monthly all staff meeting Ensure that all clinic licenses and other necessary program documents are up to date Conduct workshops and outreach to Bridge Programs and other agencies to encourage use of the medical clinic and the dental clinic

 

Diversity Ensure that all activities, services and programs through Bridge are conducted in a manner that is sensitive to and shows respect for the cultural and ethnic diversity for all Bridge clients

 

Other

·        Other related tasks as required/requested

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

·        Knowledge and experience in coordinating a health clinic or medical office a plus

·        Knowledge of public health issues a plus

·        Spanish speaking would be helpful

·        Valid Licenses as required (EMT license or background a plus)

·        Valid drivers license required (car not required)

·        Continuous clean driver’s record
