Nature and Extent of Responsibilities

A.  Basic Functions

1.  Design, prepare and produce communications materials/Web sites.

2.  Assist the Design Director

 

B.  Specific Duties Performed

1.  Design/produce marketing communications collateral, including direct mail, brochures, newsletters, invitations and programs, training and conference booklets as well as presentation graphics, banners and signage for special events.

2.  Design/produce Web sites including program sites

3.  Assist in developing concept and themes for special events with Design Director.

4.  Act as a liaison between the company and its designated Web-hosting companies.

5.  Maintain close relationships with service bureaus, print and paper vendors—to keep abreast of the latest industry trends and advances.

6.  Maintain a current knowledge of design software, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat.

7.  Maintain a current knowledge of internet design technologies, including Dreamweaver, Flash, HTML and CSS.

8.  Maintain and support Apple/Mac hardware/software.

9.  Perform other duties as assigned by the Design Director.

 



Qualifications





Bachelor’s degree in art, design, or graphic design, with at least three years graphic design experience, including: Web and print design, photo manipulation, pre-press, and print production; experience with Web design and functionality. Must be extremely well organized and deadline conscious. Ability to be effective as an individual and team member; ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment; effective interpersonal communications. Attention to emerging design trends and ability to incorporate as appropriate; up-to-date knowledge of design software, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat; familiarity with online Web design programs, such as Dreamweaver, Flash, HTML and CSS.
