Finance Director

Phoenix House seeks a Director of Finance to be responsible for management and administration of accounting functions for the Texas region.  This position has a dual reporting relationship to the VP, Texas Regional Director and the VP of Finance in the corporate offices.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Manages the preparation of Financial Statements and reports to the Board of Directors for Texas region

· Provides strategic financial input and leadership on key issues and goals for organization

· Guides financial decisions and protects financial position of organization through establishment, enforcement and monitoring financial internal controls and procedures

· Creates budgets and ensures budget compliance for each funding contract

· Provides financial direction and support to functional and program directors

· Directs external audits, including A-133 report preparation and 990 tax return

· Oversees financial audits and ensures appropriate corrective action as needed

· Participates in development of regional strategic plan

· Administers annual parent company budget process for region

· Coordinates with other departments to provide financial information for grant proposals

· Provides financial guidance in implementation of new programs and services for region

· Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws in regards to financial practices

· Develops and supervises to regional finance team

 

Qualifications - Education, Training, and Experience: 

· Degree in Accounting, CPA designation preferred

· Five years of higher level finance/accounting experience including supervision of other finance personnel in a mid to large company

· Two years of finance experience in healthcare or non-profit industry is preferred

· Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills

· Proficiency in MS Office products and accounting software (Lawson preferred)

· Excellent organizational, analytical, time management and project management skills

· Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail

· Ability to use effective leadership skills in daily interactions, planning and delegation of duties

· Ability to plan and collaborate with internal and external partners
