Family Outreach Worker
Family & Community Integration Services (FCIS), based out of Needham Campus is seeking a Family Outreach Worker.
FCIS was developed at Walker to provide better ways to help children preserve and maintain permanent connections to a family and community. Walker FCIS is not a static program, but a dynamic array of individualized services developed to specifically enable the reunification of families at very high risk for extended disruption. Working collaboratively with pre-adoptive and adoptive families, foster families, and biological and kinship families, Walker FCIS will help identify and obtain services that move a child progressively toward permanency with a family - services that use the strengths and skills of each child and family to their full advantage.
The Family Outreach Worker position is a full-time position with flexible hours (including some evenings and at least one weekend day) to provide outreach services for home and community based program. Provide in-home support (assist parents to implement treatment goals in the home) for children and families as they transition from residential to community based care. The outreach worker will also participate in family therapy meetings with case manager, coordinate community support services, and participate in residential unit activities. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have minimum two years experience in childcare, home based services, or clinical work with children/families, and an interest in working with a wide variety of families. BA required, LICSW/LCSW/LMHC licensure preferred. Applicant must be able to travel within Massachusetts. Excellent supervision provided and professional development opportunities available. AA/EOE.
