FAMILY SERVICES COORDINATOR

New York Organ Donor Network is one of the largest organ procurement organizations in the country. Its mission is to recover organs and tissues for those in need of life-saving and life-improving transplants and to increase awareness and understanding of donation among health care professionals and the general public. With respect and compassion, we provide individuals with the knowledge required to make informed decisions about donation.
Role and Responsibilities:
Provide follow-up services to all families of organ and tissue donors, including, but not limited to, information on the outcome of organ and/or tissue recoveries, organ placement, status of organ transplant recipients, support and guidance to the donor families, referrals for community grief groups and general counseling services and information about events and programs for them as they continue through their grieving process.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in social sciences, human services, counseling or psychology, with related experience in the area of counseling, crisis intervention and/or bereavement work. Medical experience preferred. Must be computer literate in the usage of Word, Excel and Power point. Position involves usage of personal vehicle. We offer an attractive salary and benefit package.
