Catholic Charities is seeking an individual to provide direct case management services to our Refugee Resettlement Program. Qualified candidates need to have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related area and at least six to twelve months of related experience.    Foreign language proficiency is helpful.   Excellent written and verbal skills are a must, as the incumbent will represent the agency in a variety of settings.  A working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and e-mail applications (prefer Microsoft Office) is desirable.   Please send resume with salary requirements along with resume.

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Title:   Refugee Resettlement Extended Case Manager

 

Job Summary:

Provides a range of services related to the agency’s ongoing services of the Refugee Resettlement Department.

 

Major Responsibilities:

1.     Provides a range of professional services to meet the needs of refugees resettling in the Fort Wayne area. 

2.     Help provide transitional services prior to closing the case from initial resettlement services.  Therefore, the target population is those refugees who have been here six months from their arrival date.

3.     Provides services to clients to address their needs in the areas of housing, medical and health care, financial needs, education, translation, or any other issue related to daily living needs. 

4.     Develops and implements service plans to address specific ongoing refugee needs.

5.     Works collaboratively with community resources in making appropriate referrals to meet the needs of clients.

6.     Develops and plans new programs to address refugee needs.

7.     Assists with employment development and advocacy as needed.

8.     Completes required reports and submits as required.

9.     Provides client advocacy services when necessary.

10.  Provides crisis intervention/emergency services as necessary.

11.  Completes and maintains required documentation in accordance with the policies and procedures of the agency and the program.

12.  Works closely with staff, interns, and volunteers who assist with client services.

13.  Participates in educational and training activities to improve professional and job related skills.

14.  Comply with all grant, funding and audit requirements for the program.

15.  Assumes additional appropriate duties and responsibilities as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Psychology, Sociology, or related area and at least six to twelve months of related experience.  Excellent written and verbal skills.  Foreign language proficiency is helpful.   The ability to represent the agency in a variety of settings.   Proficient in Internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and email applications (prefer Microsoft Office).  Ability to travel frequently in and around Allen County.  Automobile in good working condition, valid driver’s license with clean driving record and vehicle insurance ($100,000/$300,000). 

Physical Requirements:

Vision, hearing, speech, climbing stairs, ability to lift 50 lbs. frequently.

 

Starting Salary Range: $25,840
