Komen for the Cure (Komen MA) seeks nominations and applications for a visionary, passionate and dynamic Executive Director to continue to grow this successful Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Komen MA works to reduce breast cancer by funding research, education, screening and treatment programs, with an emphasis on the medically underserved. Reporting to the Board of Directors through the Board President, the Executive Director provides operational leadership to the Affiliate to ensure that the Komen mission is carried out in the service area of Massachusetts. This includes representing the Affiliate to the public and community organizations; institutional development; providing guidance to volunteers and committees; financial and personnel oversight; and cultivating effective relationships with grantees, donors, Komen National and the Board of Directors. The Executive Director acts as the liaison to the Board of Directors as an ex-officio member and is responsible for building systems and procedures to accomplish the strategic plan set forth by the Board. Working with a passionate and dedicated board, staff, and volunteers, the Executive Director will perform meaningful work that has a real impact on the lives of thousands of women and men every day. Reporting to the Board of Directors and working closely with the board and staff, the new leader will be the chief spokesperson working to raise the organization’s profile throughout the state building relationships, expanding partnerships, cultivating volunteers, strengthening programs and developing diversified fundraising strategies to increase revenue generation. QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will be knowledgeable about breast cancer and passionate about cure advocacy. S/he will be a dynamic, engaging leader with excellent interpersonal, presentation and public speaking skills with a minimum of 10 yearssenior management experience leading an organization. A successful fundraiser, the ideal candidate will also have strategic development experience within the public and private sectors and a sound background in financial management.   Proven effective, the candidate selected will have experience working with culturally diverse populations and building effective relationships with a variety of constituents including donors, partners, and volunteer groups. Bachelors or Masters level education is required or equivalent training and expertise acquired in the course of a progressive career of accomplishment.
