Director of Development
Our prestigious client is seeking a Director of Development to further advance their mission through the development, implementation, leadership, and oversight of new and existing revenue streams.
Responsibilities include:
§ Effective leadership of multiple teams (membership, corporate and foundation support, major giving, planned giving, underwriting, and special events)
§ Participate as a member of the senior management team, reporting to the CEO
§ Contribute to the development and implementation of the overall strategic plan
§ Champion and build consensus with the leadership team in the development and implementation of long-range fundraising plans
§ Ensure that adequate fundraising goals are set and met
§ Effectively work with staff, Board members and other volunteers to manage strategies for the solicitation of leadership and capital gifts.
§ Continually monitor, review, and improve all fundraising activities
§ Professionally represent the organization within the community by participating in events, serving on appropriate committees and volunteer organizations and otherwise advancing the unique role and importance of their mission within our community.
§ Develop key relationships that have the potential to yield financial support to the organization
Qualified Candidates will possess:
§ A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field
§ At least three years of successful leadership experience within a fundraising or not-for-profit environment
§ A proven track record of fundraising success and goal achievement
§ Effective management skills with a demonstrated ability to lead multiple teams
Additionally preferred experience: managing a major giving initiative and experience in growing an endowment through a planned giving program.
Compensation commensurate with experience
