Reference Code: 1336 - Director, National Resource Development-C&F Director, National Resource Development - Corporations and Foundations The Director, National Resource Development - Corporations and Foundations works collaboratively with the Sr Vice President, NRD and Communications, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and regional Resource Development staff to create and implement overall corporate and foundation fundraising strategies for the national office. This is a hands-on position, responsible for: identifying, cultivating, and writing grants (development of a grant pipeline); soliciting in-kind or monetary gifts from corporations nationally; and assisting Geographic Business Centers (GBCs) in their similar efforts. The Director is the leader of National Resource Development – Corporations and Foundations (which includes corporation and foundation relations support, grant research and writing, and grant compliance) and is responsible for goal development, achievement, and growth. We are looking for a fundraising professional who will bring passion, experience and creativity to this role. In addition to successful management experience, you will need to show a superior track record of raising money for a nonprofit through your ability to win grants from and develop creative relationships with corporations and foundations. Your personal skills must include sound professional judgment and intuition. Above all, you must be self-motivated, and genuinely derive inner satisfaction from building lasting business relationships with prospective Mercy Housing, Inc. contributors.Job Requirements:Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Experience: Minimum of seven years experience grant writing and leading corporate and foundation fund raising management, preferably with a national organization. Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with corporations and foundations, establish resource development strategies, and meet or exceed fundraising goals. Abilities: Demonstrated ability to successfully research, solicit, and steward foundation and corporate grants and gifts. Strong grant writing and administration skills. Ability to lead through influence based on expertise and adding value rather than direct line of authority. Works well in team environment. Ability to balance the need for hands-on, day-to-day work and implementation of long-term strategies. Creativity, problem-solving, and organizational skills; detailed. Possesses initiative and ability to work independently. Strong verbal and written communications skills. Strong resource development planning, execution, quantitative reporting, and analysis skills. Ability to coach and train people of diverse experience levels. Ability to travel. Extensive working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and Microsoft Office.
