Director, Donor Relations
In operation since April 1999, the American Legacy Foundation was created as a result of the Master Settlement Agreement between tobacco manufacturers and a coalition of 46 state Attorneys General. Legacy’s mission is to build a world where young people reject tobacco and anyone can quit. The foundation’s goals are: To arm all young people with the knowledge and tools to reject tobacco. To eliminate disparities in access to tobacco prevention and cessation services.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Director - Donor Relations, will be responsible for developing and managing income strategies and budgets for direct marketing and donor/member initiatives while expanding the organizations’ customer and donor base. These include paid and natural search, affiliate programs, partnership marketing/content integration programs, email marketing acquisition and retention programs, product data feed driven programs and other media-based business building activities. The role will require a blend of fundamental and direct marketing skills, analytical ability, and excellent project management skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Build a donor base by targeting audience segments in the formulation of acquisition strategies. Expert in the utilization of Raiser’s Edge to identify and prospect potential donors. Develop a creative approach and execution plans to implement an acquisition and direct marketing campaigns. Collaborates with internal departments to develop direct marketing programs. Identify and work with vendor(s) to develop an acquisition strategy. Seek out new partnerships for Co-Marketing opportunities. Leverage campaign insights and direct marketing experience to design mail and on-line campaigns, evaluate results and adjust new offerings. Supports the Senior Vice President, Development to define and implement recommendations to enhance/optimize integrated marketing model. Analyzes new business opportunities for donor expansion and makes recommendations to Senior Vice President, Development. Serves as Prospect Marketing lead on acquisition programs as assigned. Provides flexible support across all acquisition functions based on business need.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelors degree is required with a minimum of 5 years experience managing acquisition and marketing campaigns for a fast growing company that utilized direct response as a major funding source. Experience in affiliate programs, audience segmentation, email and other online programs. Incumbent must possess strong PC skills that include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and expertise with Raiser’s Edge fundraising software.
This position is located in New York City.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE:
Salary is upper $90's to low $100's based on experience with EXCELLENT benefits.
